FFL TRANSFER SERVICES
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2022
Lakota Trading Post will handle the transfer of a firearm on your behalf from individuals or FFL dealers. Our transfer policies are below.
STEP 1: Customer must ask your "In State or Out of State FFL" to send a copy of their current FFL License to Lakota Trading Post FFL by email at contact.us@lakotasafes.com
NOTE: The Lakota Trading Post FFL WILL NOT contact your shipping FFL, either by email or phone to ask for a copy of their FFL License. It is the customer's sole responsibility to do so.
STEP 2: Lakota Trading Post FFL will email a copy of our valid FFL License back to the shipping FFL at that time.
NOTE: Under no circumstances will the Lakota Trading Post FFL provide any customer with a copy of our FFL License in accordance with Federal BATF regulations. If you or your seller needs to verify our FFL License status, please go to the following BATF website: FFLeZCheck 3.1.2 - Federal Firearms License Search (atf.gov)
Customer MUST complete and sign ATF Form 4473 (inbound only)
Customer MUST pass the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) background check (inbound only).
The FDLE/NCIS Background Check Fee of $5.00 is included in the FFL Transfer Fee.
Should the customer fail his/her FDLE background check, with a "Non-approval", the firearm will be returned to the shipping FFL at the customer's expense or the shipping FFL's expense.
You must be age 21 or older (Florida Statute §790.065), in order to take ownership of your purchased firearm in the State of Florida. This applies to all handguns, shotguns and rifles, regardless of what the State law is where you purchased the firearm.
You must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident ("Green Card") with valid identification card.
WE WILL NOT PROCESS ANY FIREARM TRANSFERS FOR THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS
Individual with a U.S. Visitor Visa
Individual with a U.S. Work Visa
Individual with a U.S. Student Visa
Individual with a U.S. Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Visa
Individual without a valid State of Florida Drivers License or State of Florida Identification Card

Forty-eight (48) to seventy-two (72) hours (two to three business days) are required by our FFL staff to enter the transferred firearm(s) into our Federal BATF Bound Book inventory system in accordance with Federal BATF regulations and our FFL policy.
The State of Florida requires a three (3) business day waiting period from the date that we receive the firearm delivery, for gun buyers to take ownership of their new firearm(s).
Valid Florida Concealed Carry License holders are exempt from the three (3) business day waiting period. Out of State Concealed Carry Licenses (non-Florida CCL) holders are NOT exempt from the three (3) business day waiting period.
One of our Customer Services Partners will call you or email you when your firearm(s) are ready for pick-up.
- Please do not show up at our retail store, without being contacted by one of our staff first.
- Please do not call us and ask us “ Did you received my firearm?”
You will need to check your shipping tracking number for delivery status. All firearms are signed for once they are delivered, and we will call you once the firearm is ready for pick up.
Any attempt to pick up your firearm(s) before it is in our inventory and made ready for pick up will be DENIED. If you habitually violate our policy, we are not the FFL for you, please find another FFL to transfer to in the future.
NOTE: Any unruly, rude, crude, belittling, combative or mentally unstable customer behavior that threatens the security or well-being of our staff, exhibited when the customer demands immediate pick-up of their transferred firearm, the customer will be DENIED, and the customer will be escorted off of our premises immediately. Furthermore, the customer may be formally trespassed from our property by local law enforcement.
In this situation, we reserve the right to ship your purchased firearm back to the FFL that sold you the firearm(s) and ban you from all future transfers to our retail store.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICES TO ANYONE.
